The most recent transfer rumours involving Arsenal, as revealed by a Bayern Munich update, provide fresh insight into the contract talks with suspected target Jamal Musiala.

After recent talks, Max Eberl, the sports director of Bayern Munich, expressed optimism about the team’s chances of signing Jamal Musiala, an alleged target for Arsenal, to a new deal.

Rumour has it that the Gunners are plotting to strike if the German sensation keeps impeding Bayern’s attempts to extend their contract before it expires in 2026. The Gunners have been linked to the ongoing issue in Germany. Competitors Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea are reportedly in the running alongside them, as well as Spanish powerhouse Real Madrid.

With 171 professional appearances, 46 goals, and 34 assists at age 21, it’s understandable why Mikel Arteta is keeping an eye on this gifted attacking midfielder. The most recent information, however, is poor news for Arsenal and their prospects, as there isn’t much they can do at this point except wait it out.

Asked about the situation in Saturday’s news conference, sporting director Max Eberl responded: “There was not just one meeting, we’re in talks. I have a lot of confidence. Jamal is also noticing that something is going on here.

“He’s a fantastic player, and he ought to represent Bayern alongside Josh [Kimmich] and a few other players. We also informed the player of it. And right now, we’re trying to figure out how to come to a consensus. Being an optimist, I don’t see any justification for him leaving Bayern.”

This statement is in line with what club CEO Herbert Hainer earlier expressed to Sky Germany, saying he believes Musiala can follow in the footsteps of Bayern great Thomas Muller and play for the team for the next 20 years.

“He may play here for the next 20 years and become the second Thomas Müller, in my opinion. We’ll see him at Bayern for a long time, I’m quite excited and enthusiastic,” Hainer remarked.

Hainer went on, “When you see how much Jamal has grown over the last few years, I really appreciate it,” and “many say he will be the best player in the world one day.”

“I believe he truly values his position at FC Bayern Munich. He says that over and over again. Naturally, we are aware of what we have in him. We therefore wish to use every effort to secure his long-term employment at Bayern.”

However, the complexity of the process has caused a delay in concluding any agreement. Christian Falk put it this way: if Bayern want Musiala to end up becoming their talisman, they should make sure his value is reflected in his pay, his role as the club’s ambassador, and the fact that the squad is designed with him in his ideal No. 10 position.
