According to a statement issued by Spanish authorities, a British influencer and daredevil passed away after falling from the tallest bridge in the nation.
Following a fall off the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge in Talavera de la Reina, the 26-year-old man passed away yesterday, October 13.
At its highest point, the bridge is a colossal 192 meters tall.
Numerous emergency services, including the fire department, paramedics, national and local police, and the fire department, were said to have arrived on the site, according to local media.
On Sunday morning at 7:14 a.m., someone called for help, but the emergency services could only announce that the man had perished from jumping from the bridge.
After being found, the man’s body was sent to a funeral home.
The councillor for citizen security, Macarena Muñoz, stressed that it is “totally prohibited and that we have reiterated on many occasions that it cannot be done under any circumstances” when it comes to climbing the bridge.
“As we have been able to determine, they had come to Talavera in order to cross the bridge and produce content for social networks, which has led to this regrettable and depressing outcome,” they continued.
Another 24-year-old British man who was mounting the bridge with the man was reportedly “in a state of shock,” according to the local police.
A representative for Spain’s National Police in Toledo told the Metro, “He was about 40 to 50 meters up, around a quarter of a mile of the total height of the bridge, when he fell.
The cause of his fall is unclear, and a local court will look into it.
According to a person with knowledge of the investigation, “Neither the deceased man nor his surviving companion were using any kind of harness or other safety equipment while climbing.”
“A driver passing by set off the alarm.
“At first, the other boy was speechless and in a state of astonishment. Although he is no longer at the police station, it is clear that he is still quite traumatised.
“There will be no criminal charges brought against him. It is up to the local town hall to determine whether to punish him for breaking the law.
The influencer’s attempt to climb the bridge was preceded by heavy rain, and investigators are investigating whether inclement weather contributed to the man’s fall The Mirror reported that two people were reported for the same stunt in 2016.
