His particular favourite is perhaps this most recent accomplishment. Last night, in a historic NBA moment, LeBron James Jr., his 20-year-old son, joined him on the basketball court.
The first father-son team to play together on the same NBA team was LeBron and Bronny.
The father-son team took the court simultaneously at the Los Angeles Lakers’ season opening versus the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Crypto.com Arena while sporting the team’s iconic gold and purple uniforms.
The home crowd gave Lebron and Bronny a wild standing ovation when they came on the court with four minutes remaining in the second quarter. LeBron scored 16 points to help the Lakers win on the first day of play, but Bronny only managed one rebound in three minutes.
Lebron has already won four NBA titles, made 20 consecutive all-star selections, and won the Most Valuable Player award four times in his remarkable career. In 2024, the ‘child from Akron’ was elected a Guinness World Records ICON.
In the NBA 2024 Draft, Bronny was selected by the Lakers as the 55th overall choice from the USC college squad. Since then, there has been growing excitement for the two to play together, making this a historic occasion for the James family as well as a turning point for the NBA.
