MILTON — At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, a car veered off the road and crashed into a house in the 4000 block of Route 405 in West Chillisquaque, killing the driver and injuring his young passenger. The house was then set on fire, according to state police.
Corneilius McMullen, 49, of Lewisburg, was killed in the collision, according to the police. The car’s make and model were not disclosed.
According to the police, McMullen was traveling south when he veered off the road via the east berm and into the northbound lane. According to authorities, he then went 100 feet to the south before hitting Ronald Specht’s house’s north side and then landed close to or in the basement.
According to police, the impact caused the house to catch fire.
According to authorities, McMullen was fatally injured, and a male juvenile passenger in the car was minorly hurt but in stable condition at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.
According to the authorities, Specht was at home but unharmed. No information was available regarding the extent of the fire damage to his home.

The Northumberland A1 crash claimed two lives.
A collision on the A1 has resulted in two fatalities and two injuries.
At around 15:05 BST on Friday, a Citroen C3 Picasso and a VW Transporter collided north of Haggerston, Northumberland.
Both the 26-year-old female passenger in the VW and the 68-year-old male driver of the Citroen perished.
According to Northumbria Police, two other passengers in the VW were hospitalized, although their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
The force further stated that it was believed the Citroen had been heading north when it collided with the VW that was heading south.
The road has been reopened after being closed for a few hours.
An investigation has been started by the officers.
