With only one victory in the first nine weeks of the season, the Carolina Panthers are among the poorest teams in the NFL. Although the majority of fans and observers anticipated that the Panthers would struggle this season, the subpar quarterback play has been a major contributing factor. Since neither quarterback, Andy Dalton nor Bryce Young, has been able to lead his team to victory, head coach Dave Canales appears to have decided who will start at quarterback for the time being.

Carolina Panthers Quarterback Decision

Even though Dalton is healthy enough to play this week, Canales declared that the team would start Young again, making him Bryce’s backup. With Dalton starting, the squad’s lone victory in 2024 came against the Las Vegas Raiders in Week Three, demonstrating Young’s inability to guide his team to success thus far.

Dalton has 989 yards and seven touchdowns this season, while Young has only managed 523 throwing yards and two. Despite the fact that Dalton is healthy enough to play this week against the New Orleans Saints, many fans and commentators are questioning the choice to start Young. Young has been among the worst starters in recent memory, with only two victories in his career.

Although Young has yet to shown that he can be a reliable starter in the NFL, the decision to start him appears to be based on his potential. Dalton appears to have Carolina’s greatest chance to win games, despite his career-long mediocrity.

Do you support the Panthers’ choice to start Young and bench Dalton?
