The tragic incident occured around 1.50pm on Union Street, at the junction with Gordon Street sparking a large emergency reaction in the city centre.

After a black taxi crashed into pedestrians outside Glasgow Central today, three individuals were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Around 1:50 p.m., a horrific collision occurred on Union Street near its intersection with Gordon Street, resulting in a significant emergency reaction in the city centre.

In reaction to the serious situation, dozens of police cars, ambulance teams, and firefighters arrived on the scene.

Authorities have verified that one person left the scene and that three others were transported by ambulance to the hospital.

The cab’s mounting of the pavement at a set of traffic lights astounded the observers.

While they blocked off the main intersection, police put up screens surrounding the area and the black taxi.

Photographs taken at the incident show the police barrier in place and the hackney cab completely on the pavement while firefighters evaluate the situation. In a different image, the crash site is surrounded by blue Police Scotland barriers in addition to a green covering.

The Record was previously informed by one eyewitness that they “just witnessed a taxi run two people over at Glasgow Central.”

 

Another witness stated: “The emergency services arrived on Union Street quickly and erected screens around the area and the black cab.”

Gordon Street is only accessible by foot, and the police continue to ask people to stay away from the area.

“One individual left the scene, while three were transported by ambulance to a hospital.

Union Street, Renfield Street, and St. Vincent Street are all closed off to traffic. Gordon Street is exclusively accessible by foot.

“Motorists and members of the public are asked to avoid the area as enquiries continue.”
