Luka Doncic’s automobile parked outside the Crypto.com Arena caused the Los Angeles Lakers’ supporters to erupt in cheers before the team’s victory over the Mavericks in Doncic’s reunion with Dallas.

Up until a little more than a month ago, the five million dollar luxury car, which was specially tinted in gold and purple for the event, was the focus of attention for the thousands of people who had come to see Doncic greet his former teammates in person.

A creative advertisement set up ahead of Tuesday’s game featured a simulated parking lot with bold white lines painted around it, right next to a replica of the Lakers’ newest star’s luxury vehicle. The message read: “Parking reserved for Lakers 77,” adding to the excitement surrounding Doncic’s debut.

In another promotional stunt shared on social media, Doncic, dressed in a tracksuit, was seen swapping the Texas license plate on his car for a California one. The clip was accompanied by the song All My Exes Live in Texas, along with the bold caption: “Tank’s full, no mercy.” Meanwhile, security personnel stationed near the vehicle encouraged fans to snap photos with the replica, which was strategically placed in front of the Lakers’ stadium entrance—right beside the iconic statue of the late Kobe Bryant.

For many fans, this was the perfect chance to pose alongside the number 77 and embrace the arrival of their new superstar. Whether in his former team’s jersey or the Lakers’ signature gold, Doncic’s name dominated the crowd, as his jersey became one of the most popular choices among supporters lining up before the game.

Inside the packed arena, anticipation reached its peak as fans eagerly awaited Doncic’s first basket in his new uniform. When the shot went in, the crowd erupted, rising to their feet in celebration. It was a powerful message to his opponents, further amplified by the special gesture from the Lakers’ newest sensation—who ensured free parking was available for attendees, making access to the stadium even easier.
