Newcastle United defeated Nottingham Forest 3-1, with Alexander Isak scoring his fourth goal in four games.
This season, Newcastle United’s and Alexander Isak’s performances have paralleled; both began the season poorly but are now accelerating.
Since coming back from injury, Isak has found his scoring form again, and Eddie Howe’s team has now won three straight games in all competitions.
On Sunday afternoon, Newcastle defeated Nottingham Forest, who were in third position, at the City Ground thanks to goals and assists from him.
Newcastle is now only one point outside of the top four spots in the Premier League standings, having risen to ninth place.
Alexander Isak is performing at his peak again.
After finishing the previous season with 25 goals across all competitions, Isak was expected to perform well this season.
Isak took a while to get going, though, and Newcastle supporters were irritated with him; some even called him “selfish.”
In addition, there was a lot of external chatter about Isak and Newcastle negotiating a new deal.
Isak appears to be returning to his best form after scoring four goals in his past four games, and goals have suddenly become less of a problem for Newcastle.
Isak is feeling happier after finding his scoring form again, Eddie Howe disclosed.
Following Newcastle’s 3-1 victory, Alexander Isak delivers a message
With one goal and one assist in the 3-1 victory over Forest, Isak was outstanding. Following the final whistle, he took to social media to address the supporters.
Coworkers Bruno Guimaraes and Joe Willock of Newcastle quickly responded to the message with two words.
It is now anticipated that Isak will fly to Sweden to meet with the national squad in advance of Nations League games in the coming two weeks.
