After a complete agreement, Nottingham Forest will announce the Chris Wood signing, according to sources.
According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Chris Wood, a striker for Nottingham Forest, has agreed to a new contract with the Premier League powerhouses.
At the conclusion of the 2024–25 season, the 33-year-old’s current contract was scheduled to expire.
After confirming earlier this week that Murillo had extended his stay at City Ground, Forest is scheduled to make the announcement within the next day.
Forest has finally ensured Wood’s future by committing the prolific striker to a new deal, although he was entitled to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with international clubs as early as January 1.
As Nuno Espirito Santo’s team strives for Champions League qualifying this season, the New Zealand international has been in incredible form.
He has made 22 Premier League appearances in the 2024–25 season, scoring 14 goals and dishing out two assists.
Wood is competing against players like Alexander Isak (15 goals), Erling Haaland (17 goals), and Mohamed Salah (18 goals) for the Golden Boot award in the English top flight.
After first joining Forest on loan from Newcastle in January 2023, he reportedly made the move permanently for £15 million.
Since joining the Midlands team, the seasoned striker has scored 30 goals in 65 games in all competitions.
