It’s strange that Wrexham supporters are suddenly in complete accord over Phil Parkinson’s transfer target.

Despite their insistence that one individual shouldn’t be brought in, Wrexham supporters are still waiting for their team to recruit a player this month.

Wrexham is yet to sign a player despite the 2025 winter window having been open for more than three weeks.

However, that appears to be about to change as Wrexham is anticipated to finalize a deal for Hull City’s Ryan Longman.

Longman is scheduled to complete a £500,000 transfer after finishing his medical with the Welsh team.

Because of his versatility, Phil Parkinson should find the Hull ace to be a reliable rotation option.

The club is considering more than only Longman, though, since Michael Smith was connected to Wrexham this month.

Michael Smith is not wanted by Wrexham supporters.
Danny Rohl, manager of Sheffield Wednesday, addressed the Smith to Wrexham rumors once those connections surfaced, although he didn’t reveal anything.

However, speculation has persisted after the striker was benched for the Owls’ meeting on Tuesday night and was not included in the matchday squad against Leeds United over the weekend.

Wrexham supporters expressed their disapproval of signing Smith on social media after that game.

Another fan commented, “I think we’ve definitely shown our cards too much with Smith, and Wednesday are just going to rinse us for it.” Another fan remarked, “Time to move on.”

A third said: “I was wondering whether Ryan was implying that the Men in Blazers were considering signing 51-year-olds with new hips. I pondered whether this kind of signing was involved.

A fourth admirer asked, “Why do Wrexham want another old big lump with no resale value again? Parky should be told no.”
